Omaha

Omaha is an action-packed game where you can almost count on the nut hand being out there. Players have so many cards that there’s almost always someone drawing to a better hand than the current nut hand. Leads change easily and it’s important to know whether or not to remain in a hand. The flop tells the biggest part of the hand, and if you follow a few rules you’ll stay out trouble and save bets when you shouldn’t be in there.
You should be prepared to fold to bets on the flop often. You should either have the nut hand, or be drawing to the nut hand to continue. Don’t draw flushes or straights when there’s a pair on the board. You most likely are already beaten. If you have multiple draws to the nut hand, you should consider raising, or better yet, check-raising. If you hit the nut hand on the flop, you should bet aggressively, making it difficult for the draw hands to call your bet. You may be limited if you’re playing Pot Limit Omaha.
Always consider what types of players your opponents are when you decide to make a play. Bluffing is rare in Omaha, so most opponents will play straightforwardly, and you can take most bets to mean what they appear to mean.
