Sometimes you’ll find yourself in a game where the action is really slow. Middle limit casino games are often full of rocks who sit there waiting for big pairs all day. When you do get a big hand you can’t get any action on it, and most hands don’t make it to the turn. Professionals would rather see a table with a little more action, and most know a few ways to get that action flowing.

Live games give a player more opportunities to get the other players in a gambling mood. A player can throw a straddle down to get more interest in a hand. A straddle is a bet made by the player who’s sitting under the gun (to the left of the big blind). They put in a bet that’s twice the big blind before they look at their cards. This makes the pot bigger and causes more players to get involved in the hand.

Another way to get the action flowing is to find some players who’ll participate in some prop bets. If you can turn the mood of the table into a loose, fun atmosphere where players are taking chances, the play will loosen up and it won’t be so difficult to beat.
