Choose a Time that Best Suits Your Game in a Land-Based Poker Room

If you enjoy live poker and have decided to commit some time to playing in casinos, you might want to give some thought as to when you should play. Most people decide when to play based on their life schedule, and simply play when they have free time. This approach, however, is not the best one. The casino may not be accommodating at that time, or the action could be dried up. Instead it’s better to strategize and decide on a time to play first, so you’re playing when it’s to your best advantage.

If you’re a novice player you should stick to the hours when the casino puts on games like $2/$4 or small tournaments. Search out the action that won’t cost you a fortune to gain some playing experience. If you’re an intermediate player who knows enough about the game to win some money with good cards, you should go to the casino at peak times. Friday and Saturday nights will be a good time because the poker room will have lots of recreational players dumping chips. Get there a little early to ensure a seat.

If you’re at the top of your game and are looking for a challenge, you can go play during the day. That’s when the poker room will have the highest percentage of skilled players that you can learn from and test your abilities. The action is usually limited but what there will be is a skilled game, hopefully with a fish or two sitting in.

Choose the time which best suits your game and you’ll find that your casino poker experiences will become more profitable.
