2009 WSOP Props: Which Player Will Last Longer?

by Bodog Poker | Nov 6 2009

WSOP Main Event final table mania is back after a nearly four-month hiatus. On November 7 the cards will be in the air and the final two will wrap the tournament some time on November 9. There's still time to make your WSOP final table prop bets on the outcome of the action, and Bodog has a few options to choose from. You can bet on who wins it all or who gets knocked out first, and Bodog has even matched some players for action on which of the two will go deeper. Bodog has six different bets with two players facing off against each other.

1. Phil Ivey vs. Darvin Moon is a battle between the best player and the biggest stack. Moon has almost six times the stack (58,930,000) that Ivey has (9,765,000) but is a self-professed intermediate-level amateur at best. The line has Darvin Moon as the big favorite at -250, while Ivey pulling off the comeback pays +200.

2. Antoine Saout vs. James Akenhead is a battle of the two short stacks. Saout (9,500,000) has over nearly 30% more chips than Akenhead (6,800,000), and a successful bet on him lasting longer will pay -170. Akenhead is much more accomplished and talented than the Frenchmen Saout, and if he manages to outlast the bigger stack it will pay +130.

3. Joe Cada vs. Kevin Schaffel is a battle of the two next shortest stacks. Cada has 13,215,000 while Schaffel will stack 12,390,000. The two are getting the same odds to finish deeper than the other at -120.

4. Steven Begleiter vs. Jeff Shulman is a matchup of two contenders with healthy chip stacks. Shulman has 19,580,000 and has been to the final table before, narrowly missing winning it all in 2000. Begleiter has more chips with 29,885,000 and will be a slight favorite at -120. Shulman has lots of chips to take a good run at the championship, and a bet on him going deeper than Begleiter will pay even money.

5. Darvin Moon vs. Eric Buchman is the battle of the big stacks. Moon's 58,930,000 is much more than Buchman's 34,800,000, but the odds are close because of Moon's inexperience. Moon is still the favorite at -145 and Buchman is the +105 dog.

6. Phil Ivey vs. James Akenhead is another short stack matchup between the two most talented players in the field. Ivey has about 30% more in his stack than Akenhead does, and that makes him a big favorite (-250) to outlast the Englishman. If you bet on Akenhead and he outlasts Ivey it will pay +200.

So if this action looks juicy to you, pick your bets and try your luck. You can make a max of $50 on each bet, and all wagers currently have action.
