WPT Legends of Poker Semi-Final - 1 Seat Guaranteed

Now that the World Series of Poker has wrapped up and the final nine have been determined, the next stop for the Bodog Flight Club is the World Poker Tour. The WPT Legends of Poker will be played August 23-28 at the Bell Gardens Casino in California, and the Bodog Flight Club will be sending at least one player to the Main Event. Bodog players have been qualifying for the Semi-Final tournament for a few weeks now, and if enough enroll in the event on Monday July 20 there may be other WPT Legends entry packages up for grabs. One package will be awarded for ever 48 players enrolled.

Last year the WPT Legends of Poker had a first-place prize of $1,116,428 with the runner-up getting $563,320. The 2008 winner, like this year's winner, also won an automatic seat into the WPT $25K Championship at the end of the season. John Phan beat out a tough final table for the win, while Amit Makhija took home the second-place prize. In 2007 Dan Harrington won the event and pocketed a tidy sum of $1,635,365. This year is expected to have a million-dollar-plus first-place prize, and Bodog can put you in one of the $10K seats.

Don't miss the $29 Last Chance tournaments that will be running on Monday. One player for every $270 in the prize pool wins a seat to the Flight Club Semifinal. So if you don't have your seat yet this is a good way to get it. The other option is the $58 Last Chance tournaments; it's a bit pricier, but there are fewer players to beat to get your Semi Final ticket. If you can't win one of those, the direct buy into the Semi Final tournament is $270, which will begin at 9:00pm EST on Monday July 20.

If you manage to win your seat into the WPT Legends of Poker you could have a big run for a big payout like some of the Flight Club players have had. Alper "thunderfx" Sar won his WSOP Main Event seat through a Flight Club qualifier and went on to place 85 out of field of nearly 6500 players. He also took nearly $60K home to his native Hungary after playing world class poker for seven days, against the third-biggest live tournament field of all time.

The Bodog poker room continues to offer their players great packages year-round to many different poker destinations. This year players have won their way into Main Events in the WPT, EPT, LAPT, and WSOP. The next destination after the Legends of Poker will be the WPT Marrakech in Morocco from October 12-19 at the Casino de Marrakech. Qualifiers for that event will start up shortly after the Legends of Poker qualifiers are complete.
