BPOIII Event #9 Winner: Alex "bigmacdaddy0" Goodrich
by Bodog Poker | May 15 2009
The
Bodog Poker Open III Event #9 was won by a young up-and-coming online MTT player named Alex "bigmacdaddy0" Goodrich. The first-place finish was worth $6,675 of the $22,250 prize pool, which Alex won after beating out 137 other players. He has been a Bodog regular for years, but has only been playing seriously for a little over a year now. The 21-year-old will soon be graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Ramapo College in New Jersey.
Alex is looking forward to heading to Vegas next month to play in the bargain $1000 Event #4, as well as a couple of other $1500 buy-in events. "I’m going for a week but I’ll stay longer if I finish well in one of the events." So his
Bodog Poker Open III win came just at the right time for Alex to experience his first time at the
WSOP; he wasn't old enough to play last year.
Alex says he prefers playing poker at Bodog over all the other sites he's played on. "Bodog has a great community of players. I know lots of great players and I've made some good friends." He attributes a lot of his development to online pro "Andyvanslyke" and he also wants to send a shout-out to "TTRUTH311."
Alex hopes to dedicate a little more time towards poker after he finishes school. He hopes to one day become a member of the
Bodog Pro Team, and wants to establish himself as a force in live and online action. "I'd like to be playing in higher stakes online and live events. I want to get my name out there and work hard at becoming a better player."
His education has taught him that proper
bankroll strategies are important to one's game, and after cashing out money and going broke in the past he has a better knowledge of how to stay in the game without busting out. When he's not in school or working his full-time job, Alex is partying with friends and enjoying the New Jersey casinos. He also spends a lot of time in New York with friends when he manages to find time to socialize.
At the age of 21 Alex is already beginning to post consistently in low-stakes online MTT's. He's still developing his game, but his Bodog Poker Open III win was not only his biggest online score so far, but it also showed him that he's on the right track to becoming a professional who makes their living
playing poker. With so much time ahead of him he's certainly one to keep our eye on, and he's just the type of amateur who could go to the WSOP and really get his bankroll rolling with a deep finish.
