Bodog Flight Club Sends "greedness" to Lido International Dutch Open

The
Bodog Flight Club has a new member and he's headed to the Lido International Dutch Open. But this Flight Club member won't be travelling to a far away exotic location to play in his big tournament seat because he's a Dutch player, and this event is being played five minutes down the road from his home in Amsterdam. The online Dutch player known as “greedness” was more interested in playing at home, surrounded by familiar settings, as he gets his big chance to potentially bring home a monster cash out.
"It's like a home-match and for me, more important to win than any EPT or WPT, even though I'll get more respect from the international poker scene if I would win one of these.”
But this won't be the first time that "greedness" has played in a major
poker tournament. He's also travelled to Argentina to play in a LAPT event and he made his way to London and Barcelona to play in EPT action. He wasn't able to take any of those titles, but he likes his chances at the 2009 Dutch Open.
"Well, there are 400 people joining in the tournament. I think my edge in tournament poker is quite big, especially with a field size of 400 people, where I'm quite used to. If I can get an early double up and just expand my stack by playing well small-ball poker without seeing showdowns my chance will be around 20% to make it to the final table in my opinion.”
When asked how a big tournament cash would change his life, "greedness" didn't think he would live very differently from the way he lives now. He lives in Amsterdam and wouldn't want to be anywhere else at this stage in his life.
"If I would win the MCOP I wouldn't change that much in my life because of the money, except of buying a house and a bit more luxury. I'll obviously go for holidays with my family and friends."
The 2009 Dutch Open will get underway Tuesday, November 10 at 2:00 PM at the Holland Casino. The €6,200 buy-in
No Limit Texas Holdem Freeze Out event will limit entrants to 400 players and will run for four days, until the final table wraps up on Friday, November 13. The event has been growing in popularity every year and should attract even more big poker names than it did last year. In attendance in '08 were Freddy Deeb, Surinder Sunar, Sorel “imper1um” Mizzi, Rolf Slotboom, and Danny Ryan. Last year's winner was Dutch player Jan Sorensen, who beat out a field of 335 entrants to take home the €623,100 ($890k) first-place prize.
