Sinfully Fun Must-Attend Parties at the 2009 WSOP

This year's WSOP Main Event is only a couple of days away and Las Vegas is gearing up for all the parties that poker companies host at this time of year. 2009 won't have as many WSOP-related parties as we're used to in the past; it seems that the troubled economy has stopped the poker companies from spending as much on promotional bashes as they have done over the last four years. However, there are still some must-attend parties to take in.

Bluff Magazine has been hosting big celebrity-filled parties for a few years, and they will continue that this year. This year's bash, called Bluff on the Strip, will be held at Sapphire on July 2 from 9 PM to 1 AM, with an open bar from 9 to 11. Musical guests will be The Skeletons from Los Angeles. If you're staying at the Rio there will be transportation provided to and from the party.

The Bodog Party has always been one of the best that's hosted every year. Last year was a crazy night with the likes of Charles Barkley and Jean Robert Bellande entertaining guests and handing out sports memorabilia. Everyone who attended it said it was the best party of the year, and this year's version promises to be even better. The Player's Club party will get Team Bodog players off to the right start on July 2 in the Kingpin Fantasy Suite at the Palms Hotel. It will feature an open bar, DJ, food, bowling, and the famous Bodog Girls. You can count on Bodog professionals Justin Bonomo, Jean-Robert Bellande, David Williams, and Evelyn Ng all being in attendance.

PokerStars will have their party on July 9 with rapper Nelly leading the entertainment. It will be held at Rain Night Club with doors opening at 9pm. If you don't have a free pass to the party, general admission will start sometime around 10 or 11pm. PKR.com will have their party at the 9,000 sq. ft Hugh Hefner Sky Villa in Las Vegas. They promise to have A-list celebrities in attendance at the July 1 jam.

Whichever of these parties you decide to attend you can expect to get the royal treatment. There will be free booze, food, and as much eye candy as you can possibly handle. Take in as many of them as you can, as you won’t find a better place in town to party than these star-studded events. Besides the announced talent and celebrities, just about all of these parties end up having a surprise appearance from a big name from Hollywood, as well as lots of big-name poker stars.
